One happy momma...and even happier babies!

Now that the girls are a little older, and like...LOVE to feed themselves, these little pouches can save the day sometimes!  I'm too Dutch to buy them in the store, plus I have this nifty gadget that I've blogged about before.  I've been using it here and there and have even emptied baby food jars into the pouches, just so we can go (talk about a waste!)  This morning, while they slept, I got to work.
17 pouches!!!

I made applesauce this morning with 3lbs Macintosh apples and baked the sweet potato the other night (although it's much easier to mash a hot potato), cut up 3 plums, 2 bananas, and pitted 10-15 cherries.  I would say it's about $7 worth of food, comes out to $.41/pouch, I think that's a great deal.  Here's what I made: 5 apples/sweet pot, 2 apples/cinnamon, 4 apples/plums, 2 apples/cherries, and 4 apples/bananas (with a little lemon juice).  Tada!  Happy Friday!

We took the plunge!

We did go swimming on the 4th of July, but that's not the plunge I'm talking about...we bought a van!  I felt so old driving off the lot in my mini-van.  I loved the Blazer!  Joe likes to talk about it being part of my dowry, since we bought it from my dad when we got married.  I have driven it for the past 12 years!  But with baby #3 on the way, there was no room.  We opted for the 2014 Grand Caravan and I'm loving it so far, thanks babe!

Our first destination was the grocery store.  I've decided that I'm going to write a petition to Meijers asking them to have a dozen carts that have 2 seats for kids instead of having to drive the semi around.

they look SO big here!
Kenzie was hamming it up in the store.  She thought everything
and everyone was just hilarious.  Some guy asked us if she was
the one shrieking in the meat department...I'm sure it was, she
had smiles for everyone!

Peek-a-boo

We have a few new favorites lately...
First of all, when it's really quiet and the girls are roaming free, I know exactly where to find them; in our bedroom.  I'm not sure what the draw is, maybe because they spent the first 10 months sleeping in there.  It could be that's where they get to find daddy almost every morning.  The piano is in there.  The dog likes to sleep on the tile.  Or, it could be the alarm clock.  Who knows, all I know is that there is trouble brewing when the noises disappear.

Another favorite, especially Kenzie's, but Khloe is starting to catch on, is peek-a-boo.  Not the peek-a-boo where you cover your eyes.  But the one where they cover there head with clothing.  For example:
where's Khloe?
Peek-a-boo!
Where's Kenzie?
The girls are certainly growing up.  Khloe is thinking about taking a step or 2.  I got her to poop on the potty on 4th of July (one time occurrence, don't get too excited).  They can follow directions; find daddy, give doggie a kiss, where's your buh-buh.  They know come here, but they usually think it's a game and go scrambling the other direction.

Time for the BIG pool

After raining the last week, it was a perfect day to go swimming at nana's pool!  Joe and I had put there feet in the water and they loved their baths, so I figured they would love the pool.  Thankfully their cousin Nicki came to play too!
This is great, don't you think so Khloe!

Hi grampa!

Helping mommy instead of napping

So Kenzie has been throwing fits lately at morning naps.  I'm beginning to think that she doesn't want to take them anymore, but I still NEED her too.  Plus, Khloe loves them.  I'm afraid if she doesn't go down at 10/10:30 then she'll be tired around 12/1, which is the time that Khloe wakes up.  We did so good on the same schedule for so long.  This morning, I put her down, she cried...and cried...I never make it more than a few minutes, I'm too much of a sucker.  So I kept her up until now and tried putting her down in her pack'n'play in our room.  No, she isn't sleeping I can still hear her.  Anyways, here is what we did while Khloe slept...unloaded the dishwasher.

Seriously mom, why WOULDN'T you want to hang out with me?
Look how cute I am!

Surprises all around!

As you know from seeing pictures of the girls, Khloe is quite a bit bigger than Kenzie, she has her by about 5 lbs.  However, that doesn't stop Kenzie from thinking she is bigger.  This is usually what their disagreement looks like:
Just because you're taller and heavier and have all the hair doesn't mean you're the big sister!
Yes it does!  Mom, tell her!
Haha, told you so!
It was getting a little old after a while, we figured out how to fix the problem...

Are you kidding me?  I'm outta here!

That's right, the girls will be big sisters, Lord willing, December 17ish.  God is a God of miracles and after 8 years of marriage, one successful IVF procedure, He showed us his power and plan for our little family, baby #3 on the way!  We couldn't be more excited (after the shock wore off of course.)

10 1/2 months and on the move!

I haven't tried to do too many pictures outdoors of the girls lately for a few reasons:
a.  it's hot
Downward facing dog is pretty tough when it's this warm out...
Add caption
b. it's itchy

c. the dog distracts them
Both girls LOVE the dog!  Kenzie has begun calling her...wabuh, wabuh

d. i can't keep them in 1 spot anymore...
Ring around the rosie, pockets full of posies...

But we like to send daddy pictures at work, so I thought I'd give it a go this afternoon.  Happy Monday!
