Such a big girl!

2 months old tomorrow!  She is full of smiles lately and loves to coo, especially at mommy.  She is discovering her tongue and often sticks it out before 'talking' with us.  She has learned to nap during most days and is a rock star sleeper at night (I don't dare write how many hrs yet).  She fills out her 6 month sleepers no problem, in fact the sleep sac she has on is a 6-12 mo one because her toes were to the end of the 0-9 mo!  Happy Monday!

And we couldn't forget her big sisters!  They'll be 19 months next week...just LOVE these two!

The truth with 3...

It's the little things that matter.  We had a few major successes today!  Kayla took almost 2oz of formula from a bottle and I found a pipe that she might actually keep in.  YAY!  This means I can take the next step in looking into gym memberships.  Kenzie told me she wanted to sit on the potty tonight!  Lasted 5 seconds and then got off and proceeded to pee on the floor...it's the little things, she knew she had to go.  Khloe learned to keep the spoon upright instead of tipping it upside down and losing all the food on it!  After I thought she was done I gave the rest to Maddie...Khloe ran over, took the bowl away and grabbed a fistful of oatmeal and ate it...it's the little things.  Kayla went to sleep at 7:35pm tonight!!!!  We put the twins down, enjoyed 10 minutes of quiet time with no kids...Kayla's back up and crying.  But she did go down for a few minutes of peace...it's the little things.  Be right back!  Ok...a few more things, this time Kayla is helping me write.
I found silverware in my pantry - Khloe is growing taller and can now reach the silverware drawer
Wooden blocks are all over the house - Kenzie has quite an arm and throws with the best of 18 mo olds.  Like I said, it's the little things.  So, this week, look for the little things.  Because even though they're small, like my girls, they're significant!  Don't get me wrong, it's hard, really hard.  I've called my sister in tears.  I've begged my mom to come over and play with the big girls for a break.  I've walked out and left Joe with the girls, only to make it 2 blocks, catch my breath and come back.  I've shed a lot of tears in the last 18 months, but I wouldn't change it for anything.  Pictures to come...
I almost forgot, I was leaving church this morning and an older lady stopped me and said, You have the best behaved children I've ever seen.  Made my day.  I first replied, "well, they love to be held and when I only have 1 with me at a time, I can hold them the whole service."  But as I thought about it, I thought I must be doing something right, they are great girls!

Just kidding mom...

It looked like this when I was taking pictures of Kayla...

...see, pretty cleaned off!

6 Weeks today!

I just got off the phone with my mom and we were trying to think of ways that I might be able to get my kitchen cleaned up in the mornings so it doesn't look like a bomb went off :)  Yes, it really does.  While I chatted with her, i picked up most of the dishes, actually put them in the dishwasher, cleaned the high chair trays and made a large enough spot on the counter where I could make lunch.  Then Joe's gma stopped over and said she would take the girls to her side (we live in a conjoined house for those who don't know, with a hallway through the basement).  Anyways, since I had a little time, I thought I could use it to get my kitchen picked...who am I kidding, I took some pics of little Kayla instead.
So cute!
At 6 weeks I love: eating...being held...having a bath...my sisters...I don't mind tummy time
At 6 weeks I despise: laying on my back and putting myself to sleep...I'd rather be rocked :)

I wear 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers already.  I slept last night from 9:15-5am!!!  Woohoo!

so big!
Lys came over last week Friday to help play with the girls...and get Kayla dressed properly

Kenzie's best friend, I swear it would come inside if I opened the door (an didn't have Maddie)

Kayla Update...

One month old already!  We went to the dr. last week Tuesday for her 1 month check-up.  She weighed in at a whopping 12lbs 1.5oz!!!  I checked the girls baby books and Khloe hit 12 lbs at 3 months and Kenzie not until 5 months.  No wonder she's already rocking the 6 month sleepers.

Things she loves:
being held up on the shoulder
eating...all.the.time!
sleep sacks so she can kick her feet
her sisters

Things she dislikes:
laying on her back
naps
having to fall asleep on her own...spoiled, yup
baths

She rolled over at 3 weeks from tummy to back. I'm pretty sure that she got her head outside of her balance zone and her body just followed suit, but it was still shocking.

And of course, we can't forget the big sisters!  They are almost 18 months old and love life just like their mommy!

"O holy night..."
We even threw in a game of peek-a-boo, as if balancing on stools and tv trays wasn't enough!

Finally got a pony to stay in
at least for a few minutes

"It's still there, let me help you"

Love from all the K's

Progression...or not

We have been working on feeding ourselves with silverware lately.
Favorite foods:
Khloe- sweet potatoes, broccoli, yogurt, halo oranges, toast, eggs  dislikes- meat
Kenzie- yogurt, halos, toast, raisins, grapefruit, fried eggs
Kayla- milk :)
Usually, I fill the spoon/fork, hand it to each girl and pray they get it in their mouth before it drops all down the front of them.  But today, I felt like I had extra patience, so I thought I would let them try it for themselves.  Notice how well each girls starts:
Khloe loves to tip her spoon upside-down before getting it to her mouth...note to self, find stickier foods!
Look Nana, I'm wearing a bib!
My finger is easier and less mess than my spoon mom, trust me...
In fact, I think I'll just drink it.
Kenzie does great at bringing the spoon to her mouth upright,
Until she watches her sister (notice the eyes, clearly watching Khloe drink her yogurt)

Mom, if Maddie and Khloe do it, so can I!

The girls are 17 months now, they love to talk to each other, scheme with each other, empty drawers, toothbrushes, and their baby sister!  Khloe loves to give hugs and reach blindly on any counter/drawer she can get to.  Kenzie loves her little sister, taking whatever Khloe pulls off the counter, and running away from daddy.

This morning, Kayla and I went to church!!!  She did great!  However, like her sisters, she doesn't like to sleep in her car seat and after 5 minutes was awake.  She did fall back asleep in my arms and made it through almost the whole service.  In her defense, we had baptism and communion.

2 1/2 weeks old
10lbs 4oz at her 2 week check up
22in long
