Eye opener!

This morning we read the story of Jesus on the cross.  We talked about it for just a minute.  Well, more the tear, the wound, and the 'owies'.  Then after a LONG day...I love my girls...I passed out a few pieces of paper and pencils to the girls and had them draw while I was desperately searching for something to make for dinner.  Khloe surprised me with this...
I draw a circle...
She even added pupils!!!
I am going to miss the arms coming out of the head with this one ;)
I all done momma.
I drew my Jesus...sure enough baby, you did.  I love it.
She has a heart of gold.  She waits or comes back for Kayla, shares her toys, and is full of hugs and kisses.  Thank you Jesus for bearing our owies.

Kayla...sweet, sweet Kayla

Also known as 'Little Monster' by her sisters, parents and neighbors.  She can be an absolute doll...

...seriously, just look at the joy on that girls face!  She can also be an absolute terror...
I know what you're all thinking...don't worry,
I found the chocolate frosting tub when Khloe opened the fridge.
She just went in for her 18 month check up and she is 24 1/2lbs and 31 1/2" of pure joy!  What she lacks in height (37th percentile) she makes up in spunk...like her momma!

She is becoming more and more interested in the bathroom.  Hates wet diapers, loves to wear big girl panties like her sisters and could get on and off her potty for days!

So here's to you little monster!  We love you as much as you love to wait for the last syllable of one to follow directions.  And no matter where you go in life...we know you'll go far and we'll be with you every step of the way, making sure you stay our 'little monster'.

Phew...

I can't believe it's been nearly 3 months since my last post!  We've moved, the twins are out of diapers for good!!,  we have new neighbors the girls run down to play with and we are still knee deep in projects.  I will try and get before and after pics up soon.
The twins have met new friends and now that summer is here play almost daily with them.  It reminds me so much of growing up with Ruthie and Monica.
Noelle, Kenzie, Violet, Kayla
Kayla is 18 months and full of life!  She is on the, 'I'm either super happy or super mad' train right now.  She momma, bubba, bop (pop), dada, tank you, and pease fairly clearly.  Her favorite song is "Baa baa black sheep" and loves Mother Goose Clubhouse and Cedarmont Kids.  Basically, she loves music!  Thankfully she has made the transition to sleeping in a new house quite effortless and still naps 2 - 3 1/2 hrs.  There isn't much that she won't try.  She can get up on a full size trampoline by herself, using Kenzie's tricycle as a step.  Insists on using a big girl swing, going down the big slide...

So, maybe she doesn't always use the slide properly, but at least she uses safety precautions in the house.

Big sister looking out for her!
The twins are a month shy of 3 years old.  They are quick witted, smart, 'helpful' and love keeping tabs on momma.  Kenzie's favorite question is, "what you doing?"  I'm pretty sure she doesn't want to miss anything.  She is athletic and coordinated and loves trying new things even before she really knows what she's doing (doesn't sound like me at all).  Khloe is sweet and sensitive.  She loves books and knows a few letters and numbers.  She can play independently with Little people or her babies.  They both ditched diapers at night just this week!!!  Woot woot!

 Happy first day of summer!

Miss Fix-its

So, we've been working on a few house projects lately...to say kids learn by watching is an understatement.
Don't worry mom, I'll 'bix' it
Let's see, I think she did something like this...
No Kayla, it was like this.
Fine, have the toaster, I'll fix the tea pot!
We've also been flying all around.  So Tuesday, after we took Kayla for her 15 month check up; 24.6lbs, a double ear infection and an upper respiratory infection...ugh!  We headed to the zoo
Tick-tack-toe...3 cuties in a row

Little of this...little of that...

An update on home reno...the drywall is almost all up!  We just have the mudroom left and that is being insulated this week.  Woot, woot!  Which means all that's left until move in is; mud and sand the main floor, mud and sand the cracks in the plaster throughout the upstairs, stain the trim, paint every surface -except living room and office ;)  install kitchen cabinets, flooring and backsplash...who am I kidding.  But seeing the drywall is certainly a step in the right direction.
My little helpers last week
Kitchen - cabinets will be L shaped with an island
1/2 bath - vanity and pantry with toilet around the corner
So yes, it would have been easier to buy a new house, or turn key house or house that was like everyone else's.  But we aren't those people.  Sorry mom.  So, we may look like this at the end of the night or even the mornings some days...

But we still have lots of laughter, love and smiles...

Yes my smoothie was good,
and if you'll leave me alone, I'll finish my breakfast..
And the whipped cream from your coffee...
BTW, I got up here by myself.
What you lookin' at...must have learned it from mom's,
"go faster or get out of the let lane already!"  look.
She's going to kill me at her wedding!
I don't know how we do it either...but we manage perfectly!
