Khloe's Cafe

Back in the day, I used to blog.  Not for anyone else to really read, but as a way for me to remember what happened during this crazy season.  I miss it.  I miss documenting the little and the big things.

Tonight, Khloe told me that she was going to set up a tea party for Joe and me.  She turned it into Khloe's Cafe...Japanese style :)
Even the dog had a set up in the background.
I was working out in the garden while she was setting it up.  I popped in the house a minute to let her know that I would come as soon as I was done.  She replied, "Don't worry mom, there aren't any seats available right now."  Man, do I love this girl.  I asked if I could be put on the waiting list.  Thankfully she added a few more seats and was able to accommodate our group.
This was her menu...I sense a theme.  I ordered a Hug.  I did not get a 'forc' with my meal, but I did listen as she dug in the freezer for some bread, pop it into the microwave for 5 seconds, and climb up to the pantry to reach the jelly and peanut butter.  She then delivered a DIY PB&J...I had to ask for a knife.
Clearly we are lacking in the romance department around here.

Merry Christmas! Part 1

Just wanted to share a few out takes from the family pictures we had taken the other day...
We managed to get 1 that we agreed could be shared this season...
However, for you lucky blog followers, you get to see more.

Let's be real...

I haven't blogged in a while, ok, forever.  It used to be all cute and fun girls, lollipops and twirls.  It hasn't been lately.  Sure, the girls are cute...

We deposit $20 at a time so we can get lollipops twice a week ;)  not exactly, but I'm sure my bank knows when I roll up through drive through and need a very small amount of cash that we are just there for the lollipop.
Anyways, juggling life, marriage, church, friends all while trying to keep my sanity isn't exactly my strong suit.  Notice I didn't even put cleaning in there.  Today was rough.  Just one of those I'd like to blame PMS kind of days.  My phone was never close enough to hear...or run too.  (tomorrow in my free time i'm making a fanny pack for my phone).  I did make homemade bread this morning with fresh ground wheat!  I promise, the flour remnants are still on the counter.  Ugh!  Anyways, it was a bad day for mom.  Devil 1 Mom 0.  Tomorrow is a new day.
I've been reading another blog titled "intentional home" http://timewarpwife.com/intention/
It's about exactly that.  Being intentional about your home.  I need a place to be kept accountable, so that's where you fit in.  I'm going to try and blog about my progress.  I want to change, need to change.  Not only for me, but because right now, my girls are going to be in the same place at 34 that I am if I don't get things figured out.  So I will try and put up the cute pics now and then, but for the next 7 weeks I'll be blogging on self-improvements.  Happy Friday!

Fireworks...swimming...princesses...birthdays...and zoos!

How is it that July is almost finished!?  We had a great month filled with fun, water and lots of animals and cousins!
Starting with fireworks.  I worked the night they had fireworks downtown, so Joe thought it was a good year to bring the girls to see fireworks for the first time.  And it would've.  However, no one rested/napped that day.  It was HOT and humid.  They didn't start until 10:30.  3 tired toddlers vs 1 daddy.  Maybe next year :)
Some days I get to spend my days with royalty.
Greeted by Anna, Belle, Anna, Super Kayla ;) and Cinderella

One project done...99 to go...

This house.  Oh how I love this house.  We currently have 2 dressers, 3 couches, a full and twin bed in our living room and 3 twin beds in the play room.  We had our upstairs floors refinished so everything had to come down.  It's slightly chaotic.  I can handle most things...but this may have put me over my disorganized top.  On a good note, our mudroom is finished.  I love it!  Kenzie and Kayla helped me find shoes and backpacks and put them in the right locker and then we sorted everyone's hats and mittens.
And of course a few shots of the lovely ladies that live here.

When to mop your floors...

I decided it was time to mop my kitchen/dining room floor and scrub my cupboard doors.  They are beautiful hard wood floors and my cupboards are cherry.  How'd I know it was time?  Let my share my theory:
1.  When the number of unknown things stuck to the floor are greater than known spots.
2.  When the chairs stop sliding around the kitchen table
3.  When the dog stops licking things off the floor
4.  When the upper cupboards no longer match the lower cupboards
5.  When the sugar that you spilled a while ago started growing crystals
6.  When you want something for Christmas that you may have already ordered...I'll ask after he sees the floors ;)
7.  Lastly, it's the Survivor finale tonight!!!  If I want 3 hrs of uninterrupted TV time, a little buttering up doesn't hurt.

Just kidding, but in all seriousness, with 3 littles, a dog and winter in full swing, I could mop every day.

Happy Wednesday!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree...

Doesn't it look great!  We had such a blast setting it up, going through all my special ornaments that I've gotten over that last 20+ Christmas'.  In fact, the movie Cheaper by the Dozen has a scene that reminds me of this special night...the whole scene is great, but the best part is around 1:35...

The line they cut off at the end is, "even the special tea cup?"  or something close to that.

Let's be honest, decorating a tree with 2 - 3year olds and an almost 2 year old isn't as pretty as the end result, but we made memories.  I'd guess that I used half a bottle of tacky glue repairing dropped ornaments.  I will be creating ornaments with little tyke company that are super cute but also unbreakable and keeping mine in a box for another 10 years.  I thought about putting them on the top foot of the tree, but I can only imagine them stacking boxes/chairs/stools etc to get to them.

Merry Christmas to all!

New favorite place...

We passed this park this summer a gazillion times as it was being built.  Wish we hadn't waited until now to check it out...
Looks like I'm going to need some "goose patrol" back up...
They called in the dog too, she just didn't make the picture.
And since getting home, she hasn't gotten up off her memory foam ;)
Care free and loving it!
Wanna see how fast I can go!?
I promised a few 'seasoned' riders that they would know
which side to ride on by next summer.  Sorry
Wait for it...wait for it...
...quick, try and catch it on the other side

1...2...3...4...yup, got them all!

Mom, take me up here!  And of course Kayla won't be outdone.
As long as the weather stays nice, we'll be here after dinner if anyone is bored!  Guaranteed a good time and a few laughs.
