Next step...
We are slowly transitioning to eating at the table :) In the past, I've always fed the girls before we eat, so I can try and eat in peace. Since they eat much more finger food, and I ran out of time last night, we pulled their high chairs up to the table and they ate with us. This morning, I made scrambled eggs, sausage and cut up pears. Since we were all going to be eating at the same time again, I just put their's on the table and let them have at it.
All gone! This girl is a crazy good eater...for those of you who have watched her, notice I didn't say drinker :) |
Such a big girl! |
I had originally thought that Maddie might be bummed that there weren't any dirty trays for her, obviously that will not be a problem. "Kenzie, you eat it." "Ok...
Huh? No, I'm not feeding the dog." |

My prayer...
This has been my song I've been working on on the piano this week and I changed a few words as a prayer for these sweet girls.
Speak, O Lord, as they come to You to receive the food of Your Holy Word.
Take Your truth, plant it deep in them; Shape and fashion them in Your likeness,
That the light of Christ might be seen today, In their acts of love and their deeds of faith.
Speak O Lord, and fulfill in them all Your purposes for Your glory.
Teach them, Lord, full obedience, Holy reverence, true humility;
Test their thoughts and their attitudes in the radiance of Your purity.
Cause their faith to rise; cause their eyes to see Your majestic love and authority.
Words of power that can never fail, Let their truth prevail over unbelief.
Speak, O Lord, and renew their minds; Help them grasp the heights of Your plans for them-
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time that will echo down thro' eternity.
And by grace they'll stand on Your promises, and by faith they'll walk as You walk with them.
Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built and the earth is filled with Your glory.

Take Your truth, plant it deep in them; Shape and fashion them in Your likeness,

One happy momma...and even happier babies!
Now that the girls are a little older, and like...LOVE to feed themselves, these little pouches can save the day sometimes! I'm too Dutch to buy them in the store, plus I have this nifty gadget that I've blogged about before. I've been using it here and there and have even emptied baby food jars into the pouches, just so we can go (talk about a waste!) This morning, while they slept, I got to work.
I made applesauce this morning with 3lbs Macintosh apples and baked the sweet potato the other night (although it's much easier to mash a hot potato), cut up 3 plums, 2 bananas, and pitted 10-15 cherries. I would say it's about $7 worth of food, comes out to $.41/pouch, I think that's a great deal. Here's what I made: 5 apples/sweet pot, 2 apples/cinnamon, 4 apples/plums, 2 apples/cherries, and 4 apples/bananas (with a little lemon juice). Tada! Happy Friday!

We took the plunge!
We did go swimming on the 4th of July, but that's not the plunge I'm talking about...we bought a van! I felt so old driving off the lot in my mini-van. I loved the Blazer! Joe likes to talk about it being part of my dowry, since we bought it from my dad when we got married. I have driven it for the past 12 years! But with baby #3 on the way, there was no room. We opted for the 2014 Grand Caravan and I'm loving it so far, thanks babe!
Our first destination was the grocery store. I've decided that I'm going to write a petition to Meijers asking them to have a dozen carts that have 2 seats for kids instead of having to drive the semi around.
they look SO big here! |

Peek-a-boo
We have a few new favorites lately...
First of all, when it's really quiet and the girls are roaming free, I know exactly where to find them; in our bedroom. I'm not sure what the draw is, maybe because they spent the first 10 months sleeping in there. It could be that's where they get to find daddy almost every morning. The piano is in there. The dog likes to sleep on the tile. Or, it could be the alarm clock. Who knows, all I know is that there is trouble brewing when the noises disappear.
Another favorite, especially Kenzie's, but Khloe is starting to catch on, is peek-a-boo. Not the peek-a-boo where you cover your eyes. But the one where they cover there head with clothing. For example:
The girls are certainly growing up. Khloe is thinking about taking a step or 2. I got her to poop on the potty on 4th of July (one time occurrence, don't get too excited). They can follow directions; find daddy, give doggie a kiss, where's your buh-buh. They know come here, but they usually think it's a game and go scrambling the other direction.
